Delores Umbridge

Umbridge worked at the Ministry of magic before working at Hogwarts. Umbridge got the job as Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher the year after harry witnessed Voldemorts return to spy on Dumbledore because they believed Dumbledore wanted to take over the ministry and Harry was lying for him. Umbridge did not allow them to learn spells and gave a detention if you questioned her. Her detention was writting lines that scared your hand with a magic quill. Umbridge left her post after Voldemort came out in the open. |
Madam Hooch

Madam Hooch is the flying instructor. She is very strict but also caring. Madam Hooch taught first years how to fly in order to get them ready for any quidditch trials that they would sign up for in second year. She also refereed quidditch and might have even taught the first years quidditch with a mini game. Madam Hooch, like most teachers, may have fought in the battle of hogwarts.

Madam Pomfrey

Madam Pomfrey was the school Matron and nurse in charge of the Hosital Wing at Hogwarts. Madam Pomfrey is very stern and takes her job quite seriously. Madam Promfrey is a healer with considerable abilities, she was also the nurse a hogwarts when Harry's parents were students, escorting Lupin to the womping willow. At the End of the Battle of Hogwarts Madam Promfrey along with Professor Trelawney and Padma Patil, helped heal the wounded.

Mad-Eye Moody

Mad-Eye Moody was a famous Auror and a memer of the order of phoenix before he was a teacher at hogwarts. Mad-Eye was suppost to be teaching Defence Against the Dark Arts in the fourth year but was imporsanated and captured by Barty Crouch Jr for the whole year. No one expected anything until the end, which goes to say Crouch Jr did a good job. Mad-Eye was also suspected to turn naughty students into animals such as ferrets and to teach students forbidden magic, to better protect themselves against the curses. Professor Mad-Eye only agreed to teach them for a year.

Mr Filch
|
Filch was a Squib (Non magical wizard from magical parents) and was the caretaker of hogwarts. Filch usually wandered around the school corridors with his cat Mrs Norris, trying to catch students breaking the school rules and complaining about Peeves the Poltergeist. Filch was jelous of the students and was always looking to get them in trouble.

Professor Dumbledore
|
Professor Dumbledore is the headmaster of Hogwarts, everyone looks up to him for his ideas, he even gets owls from the Minister of Magic for help. Professor Dumbledore and Harry had a very close relationship. Professor Dumbledore is known throughout the school for being a brilliant and slightly eccentric wizard. When the “few words” he wishes to offer during the opening feast are “Nitwit, Blubber, Oddment, Tweak,” Harry asks Percy whether or not the Dumbledore is a little mad. Professor Dumbledore was headmaster until he died.

Professor Flitwick
|
Professor Flitwick taught Charms. Professor Flitwick was known to be very tiny and had to stand on a pile of books to teach the students. Professor Flitwick is also the head of Ravenclaw and fought alongside Harry in the Battle of the Astronomy Tower and the Battle of Hogwarts. After the wars Professor Flitwick resumed his job as Charms Master.

Professor Lockhart

Professor Lockhart, was a wizard who got sorted into Ravenclaw. Lockhart is Famous on writing books on dark creatures and his encounters with them. Harry found out that Professor Lockhart did not do any of the stuff mention in his book and simply took the credit for them from other wizards whom he wiped the memories out of. The only spell Professor Lockhart could do was Obliviate, the memory charm. Professor Lockhart taught Defence Against the dark Arts in the second year. None of the teachers wanted Professor Lockhart to teach at Hogwarts ut he was the only one who applied, giving Dumbledore no choice. Professor Lockhart got assigned to a Hospital Ward for his permanent memory lose when Ron's wand backfired on him.

Professor Lupin |
Professor Lupin taught Defence Against the Dark Arts in the Third year. His Professor Lupin’s nickname was moony and was a friend of James Potter. He was the best Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher the school had in the last three years. Professor Lupin left his teaching post once the whole school found out he was a werewolf even though Dumbledore tried to persuade him to stay. Professor Lupin did not want the school to get in to trouble because of him.

Professor McGonagall

Professor McGonagall was a witch and Animagus who taught at Hogwarts. Professor McGonagall worked for two years at the Ministry before she became a teacher of Transfiguration and was the Head of Gryffindor as well as Deputy Headmistress and Headmistress at the end of seventh year.

Professor Quirrell
|
Professor Quirrell was the first Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. Professor Quirrell pretended he had a fear of pretty much everything, his true identity came out under the trapped door, when Harry saw him in front of the Mirror of Erised. The Mirror of Erised showed Harry that the Philosopher Stone was in his pocket. When Harry touched Professor Quirrel, Quirrel turned to ash.

Professor Slughorn
|
Professor Slughorn taught potions in the sixth year at Hogwarts but he was a potions teacher before until he retired not long after Lily died. Professor Slughorn had a club named Slug Club for his favourite students. Professor Slughorn returned when Dumbledore used Harry as a bribe for his collection.

Professor Snape

Professor Snape taught potions in the first year until the fifth, in the sixth year he taught Defence against the Dark Arts. Professor Snape favoured his house, Slytherin. When Professor Snape was young, he called himself Half-Blood Prince and tweaked his potion book to make a perfect potion. Professor Snape resented Harry because he was James son and looked a lot like James. Ghost Professor Snape hated James because he once thought James played a trick on him that nearly got him killed but later finds out it was Sirius, and because James married Lily when Professor Snape had a huge crush on her. In the end, Professor Snape gets attached to Harry, and saves his life. Professor Snape died when Voldemort realised he could not control the elder wand because it will only obey it’s owner.

Professor Sprout

Professor Sprout taught Herbology. Professor Sprout was the head of Hufflepuff. Professor Sprout, like all teachers, loathed Voldemort and Umbridge. Professor Sprout helped brewed the Mandrake Restorative Draught for those who were petrified by the Basilisk. Professor Sprout helped in the Battle of the Astronomy Tower and the Battle of Hogwarts by throwing Devil’s Snare and other dangerous plants onto the invading Death Eaters. Professor Sprout had retired in 2017, allowing Neville to take her place.

Professor Trelawney

Professor Trelawney taught Divination, which is a class about predicting the future. Professor Trelawney was misunderstood by the teachers who thought she was a fraud. Professor Trelawney rarely has important visions, but when she goes she goes into a trance and then forgets it after. Normally someone is in the room when this happens, which is lucky, otherwise it would be lost Professor Trelawney Has so far prodected unknowingly to prophecies that involve Voldemort. Professor Trelawney had small prediction that she could remember when looking in Tea Leaves, Crystal Balls or Cards, which is when she saw Professor Dumbledore’s death on the Astronomy Tower. Professor Trelawney helped in the Battle of Hogwarts by dropping Crystal Balls on Death-Eaters heads and attending to the wounded with Madam Promfrey and Padma Patil.

Rubeus Hagrid

Professor Hagrid, or Hagrid for short was the Grounds Keeper of Hogwarts since he was thirteen, after he got expelled, he could not go home because he did not have a home at the end of his third year. In Harry’s third year Hagrid was made the teacher of Care of Magical Creatures when Professor Kettleburn retired. Hagrid is very fascinated with magic creatures, especially dragons. Hagrid got expelled frtom Hogwarts when Tom riddle reported Aragon as the Slytherin monster, so the school didn’t get closed down and so he didn’t get expelled for releasing the Basilisk. Hagrid borrowed Fluffy to Dumbledore to guard the Philosopher Stone. Hagrid got very upset when Buckbeck, a hippogriff, got sentenced to death after attacking malfoy for insulting him and was happy when he found out Buckbeck had escaped. Hagrid also had a dog named fang whom he was very attached too, while most people feared Fang because of his size. Hagrid was also a twelve foot Giant although he was small for a giant.
